Catering FAQ

Frequently asked

Formats, minimums, lead times, pricing, delivery, allergies and service — clear answers before you request your quote.

Formats & minimums

What catering formats do you offer?+

Three formats: drop-off catering (platters and boxes ready to serve), turnkey event catering (food, bar and service staff on site) and a private chef at home (Elie cooks at your place). A dedicated corporate service covers office lunches, buffets and cocktail receptions.

What is the minimum number of guests?+

10 guests for delivery, 20 for full event service, and 4 for the private chef at home.

What is the difference between drop-off and event catering?+

Drop-off means platters and menus delivered to you, ready to serve, with no staff. Event catering includes cooking on site, bar and service staff to handle the full logistics.

Do you offer corporate catering?+

Yes. Individual lunch boxes, office buffets and cocktail receptions, with company invoicing and dietary labelling on every dish.

Can we book you for a wedding?+

Yes, as turnkey event catering. Contact us early: wedding-season dates fill quickly.

Lead times, deposit & cancellation

How far in advance should I order?+

Ideally 7 days, more for weekends and the holiday season. Last-minute requests are accepted subject to availability.

Do you take same-week requests?+

When possible, depending on the format and availability. Call us at (438) 533-1241 for a quick answer.

Is a deposit required?+

Yes, a 30% deposit confirms your date. The balance is due 3 days before the event.

What is the cancellation policy?+

The deposit is fully refunded if you cancel 14 days or more before the event; it is non-refundable after that. One free reschedule is available with 7 days' notice.

Do you offer tastings before the event?+

For larger events, a tasting can be arranged on request. Mention it with your quote request.

Pricing & payment

How much does catering cost?+

Each menu is priced on request, based on format, guest count and level of service. Lunch boxes start at $24 per person, office buffets $38–55, and cocktail receptions $30–45.

Do prices include taxes and service?+

No. Quoted prices are before taxes and service. The final quote itemizes all fees.

How does invoicing work?+

We invoice directly, in the name and billing details you choose — convenient for companies. A detailed invoice is provided.

Are there delivery fees?+

Delivery is included across greater Montreal and Laval; minor fees may apply to outlying areas and are set out in the quote.

What payment methods do you accept?+

Payment terms are set out in your quote. For companies, invoicing is done in the company's name.

Delivery & service area

What areas do you deliver to?+

Greater Montreal, including the island of Montreal, and Laval. Contact us to confirm your address.

Do you deliver to offices?+

Yes. Office delivery is part of the corporate service, at the agreed time, usually 30 to 45 minutes before service.

What time do you deliver?+

We agree on a delivery window when you order and confirm it before the event.

Do I need a kitchen on site?+

No for lunch boxes and cold buffets, which are delivered ready to serve. For full service with hot dishes, we bring the equipment required.

Allergies & diets

Can you accommodate allergies and restrictions?+

Yes. Allergies, intolerances and diets (vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, etc.) are built into the menu from the start. Severe allergens are handled case by case.

Can you handle allergies for large groups?+

Yes, even for 40 people and up. Every dish is labelled so your guests can choose with confidence.

Do you offer full vegetarian or vegan menus?+

Yes. A fully vegetarian or vegan menu is possible in every format, with no compromise on creativity.

Are dishes labelled?+

Yes. At buffet and corporate services, every dish carries its tags: veg, vegan, gluten-free and allergens.

Service, equipment & menu

Do you provide serving staff?+

Yes, for event service and served buffets. Lunch boxes and cold buffets are delivered self-serve.

Do you offer bar service?+

Yes, with turnkey event catering: signature cocktails, wine and zero-proof options, with staff.

Do you provide dishes and equipment?+

For full service, yes — stations, dishware and equipment, set up and collected after the event. Lunch boxes are delivered in ready-to-serve packaging.

How does Elie design a menu?+

Chef's choice: you share the occasion, the group and any restrictions, and Elie composes a cohesive, seasonal Asian fusion menu. No long à-la-carte list to sift through.

What is the difference between catering and a private chef?+

Catering delivers or serves for groups; the private chef is an intimate experience where Elie cooks at your home, from 4 guests. For fewer than 10 people, the private chef is often the right choice.
